Nagler's Comments on Murphy's Law
     Murphy's Law was not propounded by Murphy, 
     but by another man of the same name.

Murphy's Law:
     Whatever can go wrong,  will go wrong.

O'Toole's Commentary on Murphy's Law:
     Murphy Was an Optimist.

The Cardinal Conundrum:
     An optimist believes we live in the 
     best of all possible worlds.  A pessimist 
     fears this is true.

The Murphy Philosophy:
     Smile... Tomorrow will be worse.

White's Statement:
     Don't lose heart.

Owen's Commentary on White's Statement:
     They might want to cut it out.

Byrd's Addition to Owen's Commentary on 
White's Statement:
     And they want to avoid a lengthy search.

Boiling's Postulate:
     If you're feeling good, don't worry... 
     you'll get over it.

Addendum to Murphy's Law:
     In precise mathematical terms, 2 + 2 = 4, 
     where "=" is a symbol meaning "equals,
     theoretically speaking."

Bobby's Belief:
     Confusion not only reigns, it pours.

Edward's Time/Effort Law:
     Effort x Time = Constant
          1.  Given a large initial time to 
              do something, the initial effort 
              will be small.
          2.  As time goes to zero, effort goes 
              to infinity.

     Corollary: If it weren't for the last minute, 
                nothing would get done.

Westheimer's Rule:
     To estimate the time it takes to complete a 
task, estimate the time you think it should take, 
multiply by 2 and change the units to the next 
higher unit.  Thus we allocate two days for a one 
hour task.

The 90/90 Rule:
     The first 90 percent of the task takes 90 
     percent of the time and the last 10 percent 
     of the task takes the other 90 percent.
